Why Work at Watsons?

Building services is a people business. Good projects depend on technical knowledge, attention to detail, communication and people who are prepared to work together to get the job done properly.

At Watsons, you will be part of an experienced team working across a varied range of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, BMS, plumbing, service and maintenance projects. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues while developing your own skills and taking on greater responsibility as your career progresses.

Training and Development

We believe developing our people benefits both the individual and the business. Depending on your role and experience, support may include:

  • Professional and technical qualifications
  • Role-specific training and certification
  • Support from experienced colleagues and senior management
  • Opportunities to develop practical and technical knowledge
  • Experience across different projects, clients and sectors

Build a Career, Not Just a Job

There is no single career route within building services. Our business includes mechanical and electrical engineering, HVAC, BMS, plumbing, design, estimating, project management, service and maintenance, finance, administration and other support functions.

Career Development in Practice

Career progression at Watsons can take many forms.

Finance Manager Sarah Metcalf, for example, joined the business as an Accounts Administrator and progressed through professional training, guidance from experienced colleagues and opportunities to take responsibility for major internal projects.

Her progression is a good example of the approach we want to encourage throughout Watsons: supporting people with the training, experience and responsibility they need to develop.
