Boiler System Replacement at a Distribution Centre in Wakefield

Watsons Building Services recently completed the replacement of a gas-fired boiler at a distribution centre in Wakefield, following the identification of significant reliability concerns during planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections.

The existing boiler had exceeded its expected operational lifespan and required several costly repairs to remain in service. After assessing the condition of the plant and presenting a range of options, WBS worked closely with the client to develop the most practical and cost-effective solution: a full boiler replacement.

As the boiler provided the primary source of heating and hot water for a key area of the distribution centre, minimising downtime was critical. WBS rapidly mobilised and successfully completed the replacement of the boiler, flue system and associated pipework modifications within just two days.

The project was delivered safely, on schedule and within budget, ensuring continuity of operations and restoring reliable heating and hot water provision for the facility. The successful outcome highlights WBS’s ability to respond quickly to critical plant issues and deliver effective solutions under tight time scales.
