Hot Water System Upgrade at a Conference Centre in Yorkshire
Upgrading legacy building services in occupied environments requires careful planning, precision, and sensitivity to the client’s needs. This project involved the complete removal of an outdated gravity-fed hot water system within a Christian community building, replacing it with a modern, pressurised solution designed to improve performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
The existing system struggled to provide consistent water pressure and efficient delivery across the building. To address this, a new boosted water plant was installed alongside an energy-efficient calorifier, creating a fully pressurised and balanced hot and cold water system. This upgrade ensures a reliable supply to all outlets, significantly improving user comfort and system performance.
A key challenge was delivering the works within a constrained plant space and a live environment. The project was carefully coordinated to minimise disruption to occupants, with works completed within a tight programme and with minimal impact on daily activities.
The result is a modern, high-performing water system that not only enhances operational reliability but also supports improved energy efficiency and long-term sustainability.
