Energy-Efficient Air Conditioning Upgrade at a Logistics Centre in West Yorkshire
A longstanding WBS client operating a logistics centre in West Yorkshire was experiencing escalating maintenance costs due to an ageing office air conditioning system. At over 20 years old, the system was inefficient, increasingly unreliable, and many of its parts had become obsolete. The client recognised the need for a modern, energy-efficient solution to ensure reliable climate control for their team.
WBS designed a new energy-efficient system, tailored to meet the client’s operational and budgetary requirements. The system included two Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, serving two floors of office space, providing reliable heating and cooling whilst significantly reducing the client’s energy consumption.
Because the site was a live working environment, all installation work was scheduled outside of normal operating hours, ensuring zero disruption to the client’s daily operations.
As part of the project, WBS also implemented a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme, ensuring continued system performance and extending the lifespan of the new installation.
Works were completed on time, within budget, and without impacting operations, and with lower maintenance requirements and improved efficiency, the new system will deliver long-term savings.
Project Scope
- VRF Air Conditioning systems
- Independent temperature controls
- Planned Preventative Maintenance
