Public Health Facilities Refurbishment at a Warehouse in Doncaster

WBS worked closely with our valued customer to provide a better working environment for their operatives with a full refurbishment of their public health facilities.

The project included the full design and installation of mechanical services, including the installation of domestic hot and cold water services, drainage infrastructure, ventilation, LTHW heating and sanitaryware items. Reconfiguration of existing site supplies enabled us to complete these works.

A domestic hot and cold water system was installed to all outlets via a concealed network of insulated copper pipework. The hot water was provided with a return leg to ensure that an immediate supply of hot water would be available at all outlets. This also aids in the prevention of Legionella.

A new Mechanical Extract Ventilation system was installed in both the Male & Female WCs. A dedicated extract fan has been installed above the ceiling, complete with a series of grilles throughout each WC area. This stale air is then extracted to atmosphere.

Drainage systems have been upgraded and rerouted to allow improved performance and reduce the risk of blockage. Additional rodding points and access points have been added to aid in the maintenance processes.

A series of steel panel radiators have been installed to provide heating to the space. These are fed from an existing boiler located adjacent via a network of concealed, insulated copper pipework.

New sanitaryware has been provided throughout, with all services hidden from view to aid in the environmental aspects of the refurbishment. This is via back-to-wall WCs, vanity basins and concealed urinal bowls.
