It is rare these days to find someone who has spent their entire career with one company, which is why we’re especially proud to have David Bottomley as part of our team. David joined us more than 30 years ago and worked his way up to become a Director. 

In 2022, David chose to step away from the boardroom to be a building services engineer again. His extensive knowledge is helping train a new generation of Watsons engineers.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Watsons?
The best part of my job is passing on knowledge to younger engineers.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy going on holiday, watching most sports and spending time with family.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
There are too many to remember as I eat out a lot!

You’re stranded on a deserted island with only your favourite film, TV show and music to keep you entertained. What are they?
The film would have to be Rocky IV.  Silent Witness would be my choice of TV box set, and for music I'd have Queen's Greatest Hits.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
If I could visit anywhere in the world, it would have to be Canada.

Which of your colleagues do you think is the best-dressed?
I nominate.... me!
