Mechanical and Electrical Services for a School in Manchester

Watsons Building Services Ltd supplied the design, supply, installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical services for a school in Manchester. Originally a catering college, the building was converted into a primary and secondary school for the Manchester Islamic Education Trust (MIET).

Our team adapted and extended existing M&E building services to align with the new layout and intention of the six-storey building. This included the decommissioning of several refrigeration and ventilation systems, followed by the design and installation of a new LTHW system, electric heating, domestic hot and cold water services, natural gas services, above-ground drainage, mechanical extract ventilation and a direct expansion cooling system.

Our electrical installations included new energy-efficient lighting and emergency lighting systems, small power for outlets, and structured cabling installations.

The works were carried out in phases, enabling us to perform sectional handovers and meet client requirements.
